A FORTUNATE SON...Prashan_275

We might call him a "fortunate son" —

Prashan had a good job managing a hotel. He was able to provide for his aging parents. All his friends looked up to him.

For India, this was amazingly good fortune!

Prashan was devout in his traditional faith, too, and often spent his spare time with the priests, religious literature and tradition. People couldn't help but suppose the gods had favored him for his devotion...

...but Prashan himself didn't see it that way.

For all his good fortune, his heart was aching. Despite the love and admiration of his parents, siblings and community — he felt lonely.

One night, Prashan's attention was captured by the Dayspring mobile film team's busy preparations to show Dayasagar™ (our Life of Christ film). The large film screen went up, and people began to gather for the showing. Prashan decided to stay and watch, too.

He was swept up in the story of Jesus!  He healed the sick and welcomed the poor... surely this Jesus was a "fortunate son."

But then, as Prashan watched in horror, the tide turned against Jesus and he submitted to death on the cross. Why did He not use His powers to save Himself?!?!

When Christ on the screen arose from the grave, Prashan joined with the other villagers in the audience, shouting and applauding with joy!

For the first time in a long time, Prashan did not feel empty inside. He felt amazed by the story he had seen — and afterward, when the team spoke about God's amazing love, Prashan realized what had been missing in his life: The love of a living God!

Today, the team works with Prashan to teach him more about life in Christ. Prashan himself is filled with hope to realize the love that God has for him is endless.  Now he truly feels like the "fortunate son" everyone once supposed him to be.

Thanks for sending the gospel to Prashan. You've helped to fill the emptiness in his life with truth and light.
