VINOD'S FAMILY GAINS NEW HOPE

He had never been happier — until that happiness was wrenched from him.

Vinod had just been hired as an accountant, and was excited to help give a better life to his parents and sister. He was especially happy for his father to see his success, after all the sacrifices his father had made to ensure Vinod got an education.

But that joy was short lived when his father died suddenly. The family was in shock. Their grief consumed them.

Vinod was particularly troubled. He couldn't believe his father had been taken from him. He blamed his religion's gods for unfairly dealing with his family, and his grief grew into deep bitterness.

Then a Dayspring mobile film team visited his mother. She told them about her husband's recent death and how the family was struggling to cope with the grief. They began to tell her about the Living God who cared about her family and could bring them hope.

Listening from his room, Vinod was at first disinterested in their conversation... until he heard our team members talking about a Loving Father who made a most selfless sacrifice. Vinod knew about fathers who loved sacrificially—could there be someone else who loved him so fully, so unconditionally?

He came out of his room, wanting to learn more.

The film team members invited Vinod and his mother to the next screening of Dayspring's all-Indian acted Life of Christ film, Dayasagar™. Vinod promised to be there.

He kept his promise, bringing both his mother and sister with him to the film screening. And he watched in wonder as the life of Jesus unfolded on the large white screen.

Although Vinod had heard about Jesus before, he had never known the details of his life on earth. He was amazed at the things Jesus spoke and did.

He was especially impressed by the way Jesus dealt with his enemies. Not only had Jesus quietly submitted to death on the cross, but he had also forgiven his enemies. Vinod realized Jesus was well acquainted with suffering.

Something stirred within Vinod. He knew he could not ignore this extraordinary man.

After the film showing, one of the team members spoke about the eternal hope offered to everyone by the Living God. Vinod's eyes filled with tears as he realized the magnitude of this gift.

Immediately he decided to follow Christ personally.

Today the entire family is following Christ. They say that in their grief, Christ has given them an unimaginable hope that has revolutionized their lives.

For Vinod, his faith has given him an acceptance of life's unfairness, and a confidence that he can face whatever tomorrow brings.

Vinod now knows the sacrificial and unconditional love of an eternal Father, thanks to the prayers and giving of friends like you. Thank you for everything you do to share the hope of Christ.
