JESUS IS HER HERO
Ganga never questioned the traditional religious rituals her parents taught her to follow — until she saw our Life of Christ film.
She was on her way home from high school one day when she saw a crowd in front of a white screen near her home. A group of women, a neighbor whispered, were screening a film. Ganga loved movies! She was ready to enjoy this!
The Christmas story unwound on the screen as Jesus was born. Ganga was sure this baby would turn out to be the "hero." Sure enough, she was captivated as Jesus healed people. She was drawn by Jesus' compassion for the poor and oppressed. She watched in horror as Jesus was persecuted — and finally crucified.
And finally, she watched in amazement as Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven.
In the weeks that followed, Ganga asked our Dayspring film team question after question. Eventually she made her decision: she would follow this hero-Jesus personally.
Relatives and family friends were horrified. Religious extremists arrived at Ganga's home and demanded that her father stop her from following Christ. But he calmly replied that there was nothing wrong in Ganga studying another faith, or even choosing to follow a different spiritual lifestyle.
"If you know of anything Jesus said against morality or society, " he advised them, "please point it out — or join my Ganga right now in following Christ... the way I am going to do!"
Stunned, the group left. Ganga was also stunned. Her father had never expressed any interest in her newfound faith! In the days that followed, she watched her father become a Christ-follower before her eyes!
Thank you for your prayers and giving in support of Dayspring. You played a part in leading Ganga and her family to Jesus!
