IT'S ALL POINTLESS...
At least, that's how Nema felt...
Being the eldest son of a desperately poor family in India, Nema had been forced to quit school and go to work, to help provide for the family.
He worked 12 or 13 hours a day... as one of the millions of day laborers competing for back-breaking and menial jobs... and still never made enough money to provide for all his family's needs.
Nema sank into hopelessness, and grew bitter, even suicidal. When Nema tried to kill himself, some friends found him and rescued him—
Everything was pointless. He felt he would never know life, and happiness.
He hoped to forget his troubles, for a few hours anyway, at the free showing of our all-Indian acted Life of Christ motion picture in his village.
The name of the movie Dayasagar™ (Oceans of Mercy) intrigued him... the film itself amazed him!
He'd been so bitter and angry about how unfair his live had been — but it didn't compare to the terrible injustice that was done to the innocent man, Jesus Christ.
Nema was touched by Jesus' kindness and his heart ached when he saw Him dying on the cross.
After the film, when the team spoke about God's amazing love, fresh tears sprang to Nema's eyes. He realized the Living God truly loved and cared for him!
He chose to follow Jesus and never looked back. He told his family about his decision and today they are all attending a local church together.
Through his new network of believers who have become friends and mentors, he found steady work as a driver.
Life may not be fair, but Nema has discovered: it certainly is not pointless.
Today, he has the love of Christ to sustain him, hope for today and the promise of eternity with the Lord.
Thank you for sending a gift of hope to Nema, and millions like him, all across India.
