Winning souls is wise
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. (Proverbs 11:30).
I can’t imagine what it would be like to enter heaven’s gate without having helped as many come to faith in Christ as I possibly could.
There is no greater joy than helping bring another soul to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. No worldly pleasure can match it. Visit Jerusalem, the Great Wall of China, Mt. Everest, the Roman Coliseum or the Grand Canyon. They are impressive, but they cannot compare to seeing even a single person bow their knee to the Savior and receive His salvation.
There are at least four reasons why winning souls is wise.
- First, history is really HIS STORY. The gospel story began in God’s heart before creation. Then he announced His plan in Genesis 3:15 to conquer sin and death and crush Satan’s head by sending His son into the world to redeem mankind.
- Second, God was in Christ personally (II Cor.5: 16) reconciling the world to himself. The entire global system today recognizes that fact every time an email is sent or a contract signed or an event planned. Our dating system testifies that Jesus was here among us. His mission was absolutely clear. Redemption. Salvation. Reconciliation.
- Third, God has given to us the ministry of reconciliation. We are literally in His place! Jesus commissioned us and delegated his authority. His final words to the disciples just moments before leaving earth were “YOU go into all the world and proclaim, make plain, demonstrate my good news to everyone, everywhere and make them my disciples in every ethnic group.” (Matt 28:19,20) We are Christ’s representatives on earth. Paul wrote, “We are ambassadors for Christ, in His place reconciling the world to God.” (II Cor. 5:20)
- Fourth, the Holy Spirit calls us to be a witness to Jesus Christ at home and abroad.
Incredible as it may seem we have the glorious privilege of teaming up with the Holy Spirit in persuading people to come to Christ. He has given us the power of prayer. He has given us all the resources to do the job. He has crafted the message we as ambassadors must deliver. “God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
This is why our teams are relentless in showing our Life of Christ film over 2,000 times each month. This is why each of us must keep on praying and giving, until all of India’s villagers have heard this glorious gospel at least once.
Over and over again, Dayspring International partners across this nation have told us in person, on the phone and in letters that because of our soul-winning efforts, India burns in their heart.
They love souls! They love Dayspring’s efficient cost-effective method of reaching people. I thank God they have caught this vision.
The plan of the ages is unfolding before our eyes in every newspaper, newscast and headline. The nations are groaning. The earth longs for redemption. Can it be long now before the bright and morning star, that Dayspring from on high, visits us again in glory and power? Yes, yes! He is coming soon for a bride out of every kindred, tribe and tongue who will forever live with Him. That is why winning souls is wise.
