In over 29 years, we have shown our Life of Christ film in more than 246,260 villages, reaching more than 136 million people.  And last July, we celebrated the 10,000,000th soul coming to Christ as a result of seeing this film!

It all began in 1979 when the darkness of a remote Indian village was lit for the very first time by the powerful light of the Gospel. How?

In the early evening hours, just after the sun had set, a big movie screen was hoisted between two coconut trees. As the curious crowds gathered - light from a movie projector powered by a portable generator began shining an extraordinary motion picture on the life of Christ.

Every amazing scene was portrayed for the villagers in their own language with Indian actors. "This story must be true," they said to one another. "These are our people telling it."

Making the Gospel story visual - something that people can see - is a major part of Dayspring's effectiveness in winning souls. The most important distinction of our ministry is that our Life of Christ film is presented in a culturally relevant setting and in their native language.

In India, night after night, villagers behold a story they have never heard before: the Life of Christ presented by Dayspring film teams. As the villagers see Jesus whipped, beaten and nailed to the cross, their eyes fill with tears, as many often cry out in despair, "They're killing an innocent man!"

They understand, from what they are seeing, that the blameless Son of God was incarnated, lived and died for their sins - and that He was resurrected in glory and is coming again! Without question, film evangelism is one of the shortest routes to planting the church of Jesus Christ in India's villages.

We have proven this strategy in more than 246,260 villages.

Every day in India, hundreds of souls are won through this film. For many, it is the first time they have heard the Gospel story, for the Christian God is completely unknown to hundreds of thousands in India. Dayspring teams operate from the deserts of Rajastan, to the Himalayan Mountains, in large urban areas, and remote tribal regions.

Dayspring is committed to developing the Christian church in India. New believers are baptized and directed to a local church whenever possible. Sometimes new churches are established literally overnight.

Never in all of history has there been such an opportunity to bring the masses to Christ. The film screen hoisted in a village always draws attention to the Life of Christ film, and whole villages come out to watch.
